hahahah that's what yanjun always say. it's the study week. but all i can think of, is not to study. i want to do everything other than study and i really didnt study much. i put my notes in front of me, and a few hours passed. i no longer have the drive and motivation to study really hard, unlike the times when i was in doing my Os and As. i'm really not really suited nor cut out to study in uni, i think. during HR3003, there's this motivation theory, i cant remember what theory it is, that says that humans cant live with inequity nor inconsistencies. that's what i'm currently experiencing now. whatever i think is good or job well done might not be as recognised as they should be. and some stuff that i thought were not well written, might end up to be one of my best pieces of work in uni. there's this inconsistency between what i think is good, and what ppl think is good. is this my problem or the school's problem? an individual project paper, which i took a night (9hrs from 5pm-3am with breaks in between) to write, turned out to be "a very good paper that is both clearly organised and well presented". last sem, my geography toyota paper which i took dont know perhaps a week to write, didnt turn out as well.
omg i'm so super pleased with myself can. perhaps it's due to the fact that i've never received such pleasant comments from the acad staff. i'm soo pleased! even though i might have done better if not for the fact that i was really sick the day of submission. on top of that, it was a last min work. i did think through what i wanted to discuss in my paper over the week, but i wouldnt consider myself thinking bout them seriously throughout the week. perhaps it was well done cos there was some planning done before i started writing my paper. not a well-thought plan, but perhaps that was what made the difference. i dont doubt my language ability. not that i have excellent vocab. just that my grasp of the english language is good enough for my reader to understand what i was trying to express, perhaps not fully, but good enough.
in anyways, i'm still very pleased that i got a B+ for my paper. but the comment given by the prof sounds way better than the grade that he gave me. his comments:
This is a very good paper that is both clearly organised and well presented. There is also some engagement with relevant literature. The data taken from interviews is thoughtfully presented and interesting. On a side note, it is perhaps better to include all sources cited under one simple heading: references.hahaha the referencing part is funny. cos usually i put all everything under References. but this time i very kaypo went to copy other ppl's style and it didnt turn out well. guess i should just stick to what i usually do.
okay i see what wasnt well done enough for my paper after re-typing his comments. i need more engagement with the relevant literature. thus my B+. ahh, either way, job well done yihui! :D
